The place was smaller than expected, but could tell the food was good because of the amount of people waiting, coming and going. My husband ordered the oxtail with cabbage and yams. I ordered the turkey wings with mac and cheese and collards. They give you so much food and it is delicious!! A small wait (20 minutes) but worth it!!! We will be back!
Eating my way through Tampa and I love supporting mom and pop shops . Ladies of the sea and soul food was one of my fav stops. Service . Excellent. We had a big group so we bombarded this place all at once . They knew the food would take some time and one of the workers made herself some dinner and let us sample her food . So sweet Dirty crab a bit salty but so good still. Crabs cooked nicely. Very fresh . Meat loaf so good here . One of the best I ever had. Oxtail is cooked perfectly . Seasoned nicely . Bomb fried chicken. Banana pudding for desserts . 5 stars Overall I loved the food . Loved how happy they were for our business .
Wonderful customer service. Owners daughter and team were very friendly and accommodating. The meatloaf and oxtail were my favorite dishes. I don't like candied yams at all but theirs was so good. Everything was delicious. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
A new go to spot for me down in east Tampa (iykyk). Food is great and made fresh with lots of seasoning. You definitely get your moneys worth. Seems like a family owned place, they are very friendly.
I was at a conference, me and my friends were looking for a good place to eat. We looked up a place to eat on yelp and found this place. We came in the restaurant and were greeted by the staff. We ordered our food before we took our seats. I ordered the turkey wings with greens, macaroni and cheese, yams and cornbread. The turkey wings were seasoned to perfection and the meat was very tender. The greens, macaroni and cheese and yams were phenomenal and very delicious. The grape drink was delicious very refreshing. The ambiance is very customer service friendly. This is a great place to go get a delicious meal and the customer service is phenomenal.
Stopped into Ladies of the Sea & Soulfood. Because I am not familiar with the area, I looped around the block because I missed the entrance. Parking and seating are limited, but the menu is ample and the ambiance is fantastic. Prices are very reasonable. I ordered the meatloaf plate with collard greens and yams. Added a large ice tea and a blue velvet cake. The team is super accommodating and knowledgeable. As I waited for my food the line for to go orders was non-stop. If you want some seafood or soul food from good people--check it out. You will not be disappointed and you will hear laughter while you wait and eat. Definitely a hidden gem in a sea of options
Admittedly, I'm surprised Tampa doesn't have more soulfood restaurants, but back to the topic at hand...Ladies of the Sea and Soulfood...it's really good! I tried the Turkey wings with collards and lima beans...everything was very tasty and I would say it's some of the best soulfood I've had in Tampa. The inside of the restaurant was very eclectic and consisted of a few tables. Considering its restaurant that serves a lot of food, it smelled good and was very comfortable all things considered. Can't wait to go again. Definitely check it out!!!
